Bunnings Padstow hit with coronavirus alert after positive case visits store

2 weeks ago 12

Customers of a Bunnings store in Sydney’s southwest have been told to monitor their symptoms after a positive case of COVID-19 visited the business.

Deputy chief health officer Dr Jeremy McAnulty said the case attended the Padstow store on August 27 between noon and 2pm.

“Anyone who attended (during this time) is considered a casual contact and must monitor their symptoms and get tested if they appear,” he said.

The news comes as Dr McAnulty confirmed eight new cases of coronavirus in NSW. Seven are linked to known clusters, and one is a returned traveller in hotel quarantine.

This isn’t the first time a Sydney Bunnings has been impacted by the virus. A staff member at Bunnings in Campbelltown tested positive to the virus earlier this month after working a several shifts at the store.

A Bunnings spokesperson said the company follows strict health protocols and the store has undergone several deep cleans.

A virus alert has also been sent out for Aldi North Strathfield. A positive case visited the store on September 1 between 10am and 10.30am.
