Seven new cases of coronavirus in NSW as hospital outbreak grows

2 weeks ago 6

NSW has recorded another seven new cases of coronavirus, as two outbreaks linked to a hospital and school continue to grow.

Seven new cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed in NSW. Two are returned travellers in hotel quarantine and five are linked to a known case or cluster.

One case is a student at St Pauls Catholic College Greystanes, two are linked to the Concord Hospital outbreak, bringing the hospitals (including Liverpool Hospital) cluster to 14.

Two new cases are from Sydney’s south east and both visited the Eastern Suburbs Legion Club at Waverley.

The news comes just a day after NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said she “begrudges” the Queensland premier for her tough border restrictions.

“I do begrudge her because (of the) situation. We (have) low community transmission and NSW has shown you can have open borders,” Ms Berejiklian told the Today show on Wednesday.

“We don’t mind. We have Queenslanders coming in (because) we open our borders to everybody.”
